Sex: Female

Age: 3 and a half

Rescue Details: She came from a care center at Asahikawa. Coincidentally, she was brought in while our organization was having a photo exhibit in Hokkaidō.

The other day her sister Reia graduated.

Traits and Personality: Her reserved nature will strike your heart! Yuria, the black cat beauty.

Her hair is a gorgeous silky black and she has a dignified slender shape. Yuria’s yellow eyes on her small face leave such an impression. She is a 3 year old cute little girl.

She has a shy personality, and she can be a scaredy-cat when she’s not used to someone
and might hide but like all other cats, love always works! If you keep giving her love and affection, Yuria-chan will always know your heart!

If you cuddle up to her heart at a slow and steady pace Yuria-chan will start to think, “Hmm, humans are nice, aren’t they♪” We hope from the depths of our hearts that she might find a family.

We have a few tricks up our sleeve for getting her used to new people so if you’re anxious about that, don’t hesitate to contact us^^

Nickname: Sumire (Her profile can also be found here.)

Sex: Female

Age: 3 and a half

Rescue Details: At Miharu Dam, her parent(s) were chased off by a dog, leaving her abandoned. The ones left behind were too young to feed themselves, so the volunteers rescued them. We gave all of the sisters flower names.

The staff did their best to provide milk for them. Most of the sisters had swollen lymph nodes so we had them examined and it was determined that they had malignant lymphoma. We immediately commenced anti-cancer treatment but sisters Fuyō and Dahlia did not improve and went to heaven. Sumire hung in there with her treatment and no longer shows symptoms. Currently she lives a calm, gentle life.

Traits and Personality: A slender beauty who loves people☆ She also loves to play! Sumire

A distinct tabby with a beautiful, slender body. Her huge eyes and sharp features leave a great impression♪

She’s still a young 3 year old with lots of energy☆ She’s a little one that loves to play(^^) If you shake a cat toy for just a moment, her big eyes glitter and she comes to play. She’s perfect for people that want a kitty to play with♪

We’ve poured a lot of love into her at the shelter from a young age, so she’s extraordinarily friendly toward humans! She has no fear of strangers(^^) When guests come by she greets them with hospitality by rubbing all over them♪

When Sumire-chan is in an environment with other cats she sometimes sprays to mark her space so we are requesting that she is adopted by a family that can raise her alone. This adorable Sumire is looking for a family that will be devoted to only her and we’re searching to find her soulmates(^^)

*Sumire-chan’s sisters passed away from lymphoma. She didn’t have lymphoma but just to be sure, we took preventative measures and had her undergo anti-cancer treatment. Currently, she has no issues with swollen lymph nodes and is full of health and vigor. If you’re worried, we can give you a detailed explanation so please don’t hesitate to contact us(^^)

Rescue Details: She was found near Katsurao Village. A little boy found and rescued her when she appeared on the road.

Traits and Personality: She loves people! This clingy little sweetheart calico☆ Kanna

The pattern on her face is so cute! Kanna-chan is a level of clingy and sweet that we rarely ever see! She’s such a cute little kitty that loooooves humans☆

・If she sees an open lap she’ll run and take it over (lol)!
・She’s a sweetie that’ll rub her face all over you and give little kisses
・She loves hugs and will purr like a maniac!

Seriously, if you meet her just once you’ll definitely be done in by her charms!

I want to be loved by a cat! I want to be snuggled all the time by a cat! I wanna live a lovey-dovey life with a little sweetheart!

If you feel that way, she’s the perfect match for you☆

Kanna-chan will wholeheartedly love her owner so we are requesting that she is adopted by a family that can raise her alone. We also think she’ll get along with little humans very quickly as well, so homes with children are fine^^

The other day, when we went to do activities in the evacuation zones we went to a place that we had a consultation about.

Namie Town has been made prosperous due to news reports. The person we consulted with was a garbage disposal employee sent to a demolished building in Namie. We knew the name of this place, which was the job site of a transport service. There is a place where garbage is sorted after being taken from homes near the seaward side of Namie Town and you can also see an institution where they incinerate the garbage closer to the sea.

A man from Iwate that goes there for work started feeding the cats that gathered there and there were two that were really used to humans. In the spring there was a chance that that location would be transferred to another merchant, and he didn’t know if the next set of workers would care for the cats, so he came in for a consultation.

The workers were all sweet on the cats there and would gather up food for cats that came out after demolitions(^_^;) They even made beds and a warm place to stay for them. I even became attached to those two girls immediately and I’m told one of them gave birth in the beginning of autumn.

The little ones that were born suddenly disappeared and they don’t know whatever became of them. There are 2 others in this place, making 4 total. We said that we wouldn’t be able to rescue them at this time but that we would take them with us to the shelter and think over what we could possibly do. First things first, we need to spay and neuter the ones gathered here by mid-month.

By the end of this month, there’s a possibility that these little ones will lose their makeshift home. We would like to solicit help in finding a foster home or temporary custody.

We have a request! Do you think you could help us out?

We think that these little ones are the descendants of cats that could live longer lives after being fed by volunteers. *It’s not too far from our organization’s feeding point.

Could we ask for your cooperation to help extend the lives of these souls in Namie Town?

On this day, while doing activities in the evacuation zone, we did feeding in Namie for the first time in a long while. Usually we’re always depending on our volunteers, but when nobody is able to go, we are supposed to make great efforts to go urgently. Please let us know if you have any information.

In Hama-dōri, the plum trees are blossoming. Actually, they’re at the last stage✿ Just as expected in this warm area!

These kinds of places where radioactive materials are dumped have grown here and there.

I don’t think the residents here will be able to return in April with things in this shape… (There was news lately that people could go home soon.) The scenery as we pass through the town looks beautiful at first glance but it doesn’t look quite yet like a place where people can live. The mayor of Namie Town has said that extending the date any further will break the residents’ hearts.

Of course. The people who want to go home want to go back more than anything. It’s like medicine that’s good for their hearts and bodies.

This is a place where we went in chased by the police when we were doing secret rescue activities right after the disaster…(^_^;)

20170305120743bcb

I have so many memories.

Animals that ate our feeding stands for no reason w(゚o゚)w

201703051207419d8

I saw the various problem points in Namie, and hope they can be worked out from now!

2017030512073779b

TNR in Namie Town continues on, and I think it’s wonderful that activities have helped save existing cats while restricting the increase of the number of cats. But it’s emotionally very worrisome that the cats that have survived here for 6 years after the disaster are just left out in this environment. So we want to find a home one day sooner for them!

The current situation at the shelter makes it impossible to make these ideal wishes a reality. There are so many little ones that lose their makeshift homes in Katsurao Village just like Namie Town. The volunteers working here are in quite a dilemma. All we can do is sigh about powerless we are.

We are able to continue our activities with your cooperation but it is still sometimes really painful to realize how little power we have.
